Electro Harmonix Crayon 69 Full-Range Overdrive.
Mike Matthews: King of fuzz, and now, king of overdrive?
Lately, the Electro-Harmonix stable has been full of great-sounding, low-cost overdrives of all shapes, sizes, colors and flavors. Now, we can add the Crayon to this stable. And o, what an addition it is.
The Crayon advertises itself as a "full-range" overdrive, and while this description can be interpreted any number of ways, the arrow always points to "great-sounding." Seriously, this thing rips, it excels at light-to-medium gain OD with a little extra hair.
The Crayon is equipped with a two-band EQ (Bass and Treble), as well as requisite Gain and Volume controls. The range is pretty deep on all knobs for extensive tone sculpting. The EQ is full and rich, and compliments the Gain section nicely.
