Keith McMillen Instruments K-705 12 Step USB MIDI Foot Controller.
The K-705 12 Step from Keith McMillen Instruments is a chromatic keyboard foot controller that sends MIDI notes via USB or the optional KMI MIDI Expander to control virtual synthesizers, MIDI Keyboards and MIDI sound modules*
The 12 Step is polyphonic capable and can play up to 5 notes per key. That's like having another hand attached to your toes (that was supposed to be funny). But seriously it's a great way to fire off background pads, stabs, samples or sequences when both your hands are busy and you don't want to risk the dreaded backing track meltdown in the middle of a set.
Each key is velocity and pressure sensitive and can use the tilt of the foot to control pitch bend, polyphonic aftertouch, or any other MIDI CC value. The unit is portable and durable. In fact you can drive a golf cart over it and even take it for a swim. The warranty doesn't cover shark bites or various other "hey guys watch this" shenanigans however.
It's USB port sends MIDI commands for control of soft synths, MIDI keyboards or MIDI sound modules. If you don't know what MIDI is all about then you're in for an awesome learning adventure that will expand your musical horizons.
