The BT-500 Bluetooth Streaming 500 Series Module from Heritage Audio is designed as a wireless streaming solution for solving the connectivity problems of mobile devices in a professional studio environment. Audio professionals often need to listen to mobile-stored or -streamed reference tracks for direct level comparisons while mastering or mixing. Mini-jack to XLR adapter cables, and mobile devices' analog outputs and integrated converters impose perceptible limitations on audio quality. Using audio-specific Bluetooth technology and high-fidelity D/A converters, the BT-500 delivers lossless transmission intended as being better quality, compared to any analog wired connection.

The unit features a Burr Brown analog signal path and an integrated antenna on the front panel. It supports AAC, aptX, and SBC codecs, and automatically recognizes the best codec option for the connected device, then uses it for streaming. The BT-500 offers one XLR output for right/mono channel and one input connector (male XLR) which can be used as the left output channel for a stereo XLR-balanced connection using the adapter supplied with the module.
